These measurements are intended to help identify whether further investigation is warranted. We would welcome a formal Council traffic-speed survey and consideration of appropriate measures to reduce vehicle speeds on this road.

Methodology

Radar model: HLK-LD2451. Readings consist of speed, direction, angle, distance and timestamp where available. No photographs or number plates are captured, and no attempt is made to identify vehicles or drivers.

Readings are indicative community monitoring data and are not calibrated police-enforcement evidence. Radar mounting angle and calibration can affect absolute speed accuracy. Statistics should be interpreted over large numbers of vehicle passes rather than individual readings.

Repeated target frames are grouped into a probable vehicle pass using target index, direction and a 1.5-second tracking gap. The radar does not provide a unique vehicle identifier, so this is a tracking heuristic rather than confirmed vehicle identity. Probable queued traffic is excluded from headline calculations where a five-minute window contains at least five probable passes, averages 12 mph or less, and at least 60% are at 15 mph or less.
